Five free transfer Premier league targets for Wolves
With Wolves' season reaching an unsatisfying climax, talk is underway over potential summer targets.
With the club up for sale, it remains to be seen what funds Kenny Jackett will have to utilize.
Here are five Premier League players that will be available for free transfers.
1) Steven Whittaker
Experienced Scottish international right-back who would be an excellent addition at Championship level.
With Dominic Iorfa being looked at at centre-half and Matt Doherty excelling at left back, Wolves need to strengthen here.
The 31-year-old began the season in the Norwich team but after a red card at Southampton has struggled for game time, and since October he hasn't featured.
The ex-Rangers man recently said: "Next season I will probably move on. I want to play football again."
2) Steven Taylor
His 21-year association with Newcastle is almost certain to end this summer.
The centre-half has been frozen out of the team in recent weeks and no talks have started over a new deal.
The 30-year-old will be on a decent wage, but Wolves managed to snare Mike Williamson from the north east club, and if Kenny Jackett wants another experienced centre-half with a good few years left in him, he could do a lot worse than Taylor, whose committed style would go down well at Molineux.
3) Jordan Rossiter
A highly-regarded all-action midfielder who has come through the ranks at Anfield.
One in a long line to be dubbed as the 'next Steven Gerrard' but he hasn't featured under Jurgen Klopp and a new contract looks highly unlikely.
There were reports earlier this month that the 19-year-old was being tracked by Italian club Udinese. But a Championship move would give him the regular football he needs and with Kevin McDonald likely to be heading for the Molineux exit door Wolves could take a chance.
4) Nick Powell
The England under-21 international may be looking for a new home this summer with his Manchester United deal at an end.
Currently on loan at Hull, the attacking midfielder's career has stalled in the past couple of seasons after a productive loan spell at Wigan in 2013/14.
He's suffered with injuries, but given a run he would thrive in the Championship. Hull will be first in the queue with Steve Bruce recently revealing he'd like to sign Powell, but if not then the 22-year-old would fit the Wolves mould.
5) Peter Odemwingie
Given his Albion connections, this may prove controversial but with funds tight this summer you'd struggle to find a better experienced striker on a free transfer, at the kind of level Wolves will be looking at.
Surplus to requirements at Stoke and is currently on loan with Bristol City in the Championship.
Aged 34, Odemwingie isn't one for the future but given Wolves' lack of experience and nous in the forward areas this season he could make an ideal addition.
