Michal Zyro was stretchered off at half time

The 23-year-old Pole - who moved from Legia Warsaw to Molineux at the start of the January transfer window - was stretchered off at half-time of Tuesday's 2-1 victory at Milton Keynes Dons after a high and late tackle by Dons defender Antony Kay, who was only awarded a yellow card by referee Mark Heywood.

Wolves confirmed Zyro suffered knee ligament damage and is expected to undergo surgery soon.

Head of medical Phil Hayward said: "Michal unfortunately sustained a significant multi-ligament knee injury during Tuesday night's game.

"Michal will see a consultant this week and will undergo surgery once the swelling has subsided at some point in the next two weeks.

"He is expected to be out for a considerable time, and the timeframes will become more apparent following the surgery."

However, Zyro is already fearing the worst and posted the following on Twitter in Polish: "Unfortunately a brutal attack on the leg costs me 10-12 months break."

Wolves have already lost Nouha Dicko, Jordan Graham and Razak Boukari to long-term knee injuries this term, while countless other players have spent time out.
