The Wolves chief criticised the team for not showing enough hunger or desire during a tepid 1-1 draw at Shrewsbury Town on Saturday.

Tim Sherwood's Villa will offer a stern test and Jackett called for his players to treat the friendly like a big game.

"I can accept mistakes but when we play I want us to play properly and it not to resemble a pre-season friendly, which for us Saturday did," he said. "It's really good to have a Premier League club coming to Molineux and for us we have to improve, we have to treat it like it's a very important game, like we want to show our supporters that we have the appetite for it."

Jackett said positions in the midfield and forward roles were 'up for grabs' .

He added: "There does need to be an honest assessment and the honest assessment on Saturday was that we lacked hunger and appetite. There are a variety of solutions that can improve that. And we do need to improve."

Wolves will again be without midfielders Jed Wallace and George Saville.

Saville is back in training and could feature against Doncaster on Saturday, but Wallace is out of both games with a knee injury that has so far prevented him making his Wolves bow.

Meanwhile, Michael Jacobs has left Molineux to join Wigan Athletic.

n A bumper crowd of up to 20,000 is expected at Molineux. Wolves fans can pay on the night for the 7.45pm kick off in blocks seven and eight of the Billy Wright upper tier.

Tickets are £10 for adults, £8 for concessions and £5 for under-12s. Villa supporters can buy tickets from the away ticket office at the corner of the Stan Cullis stand.
