Wolves won't recall George Saville just yet
Midfielder George Saville has been warned he will only be recalled by Wolves if he is needed to go straight into the team after struggling for games at Bristol City.
The £1million summer signing from Chelsea was sent to the League One title hopefuls on a three-month loan on January 15 after failing to break into Kenny Jackett's side regularly this season.
But the 21-year-old has made just one league start plus two substitute's appearances for Steve Cotterill's side.
Head coach Jackett admits he has enough options with Kevin McDonald, Dave Edwards, Jack Price and Lee Evans. But he still tipped Saville to emerge as a future star.
Jackett said: "It's something we've considered but, at the moment, we're going to leave it where it is. We want to call him back when we need him to go into the team.
"With Price, Evans and Saville I'm looking at three young midfielders that all have a really strong future.
"At the moment, I'm selecting McDonald and Edwards. I felt we needed experience there but it's good we've got young players behind them ready to come through.
"George started off very well at Bristol. In recent games he hasn't been playing, as Steve Cotterill's gone back to tried-and-trusted partnerships. It's up to George now to fight his way back into the team."
Meanwhile, Jackett tipped Edwards to remain as his 'lucky talisman' and stay in the team alongside McDonald.
The 29-year-old has now played 202 League games for Wolves and is on course for his most minutes in a Molineux campaign.
He has only missed two league games – the same as in 2008-09 – but many of those appearances were as a substitute.
Jackett said: "There's a strong connection since I've been here between good results and Edwards playing so long may it continue in whichever role I pick him.
"I've pretty much picked him all of the time I've been here. He's currently playing a deeper role, but we've needed an experienced holding player at times and he's done it very well."
