Viva Las Vegas for Wolves stars

Wolves players enjoyed their rewards for winning League One – with a trip to Las Vegas.

Eighteen members of Kenny Jackett's promotion-winning squad made the trip to the United States, spending a week in the world's gambling capital.

The players, who flew from Manchester the morning after the club's end of season awards dinner at Telford International Centre, had the trip partly paid for by the club.

All the players were invited on the trip but two of the most senior members of the squad, captain Sam Ricketts and Dave Edwards, opted not to join their team-mates.

But the air of celebration from the end of their record-breaking season continued as a fan claimed they were greeted at the airport with a massive banner saying 'congratulations Wolves'.

End-of-season trips to Las Vegas have become regular for Wolves players in recent years, but this time they had something to celebrate after successive relegations.

While his players were letting their hair down in the States, their head coach Kenny Jackett is still very much in work mode.

Jackett has attended the League play-off semi-final between Rotherham and Preston last night and both legs of the Peterborough-Leyton Orient tie.

In recent weeks he has also taken in games involving Oldham, where 23-year-old midfielder Korey Smith will have been on his radar, and Rochdale, where he has been tracking versatile forward Scott Hogan, 22, for some time.
