Fan-tastic away support as Wolves net second-highest average in Football League

Wolves have the second-highest away support in the Football League, it emerged today.

Kenny Jackett's League One champions were watched by an average of 2,645 supporters this season, below only Championship side Leeds' total of 3,132.

The average number of travelling Wolves supporters eclipsed next-best Nottingham Forest (2,321), Sheffield Wednesday (2,220) and Championship winners Leicester (2,140).

Wolves fans helped to swell the highest attendances at 10 of the 22 other League One grounds, and they were the only third-tier club in the overall top seven for away support, with Coventry (1,671) in eighth.

The Molineux average home gate, 20,878 was higher than all but six in the Championship - Brighton, Leeds, Leicester, Derby, Forest and Sheffield Wednesday.
