Wolves launch new home shirt for 2014/15 season
[gallery] Wolves today unveiled their new kit - as they announced that tickets had sold out for this weekend's match.
It comes as it emerged that rock legend and Wolves fan Robert Plant would take a penalty on the Molineux hallowed turf at Jody Craddock's testimonial.
The Led Zeppelin front man has agreed to take to the field at half time during the match, but only if chief executive Jez Moxey is in goal.
The pair have agreed to the stunt as a Wolves XI takes on Sunderland on Bank Holiday Monday, with Wolves legend Steve Bull set to be the referee in a move sure to thrill fans.
The rest of the half-time penalty shootout will see three lucky ticketholders get the chance to take three penalties apiece at former Wolves keeper Matt Murray.
Before then League One champions Wolves – who today unveiled their new kit for next season – have announced another capacity crowd.
More than 30,000 fans celebrate Wolves lifting the League One trophy after Saturday's final game of the season against Carlisle.
The second capacity crowd in a row will create a 35-year high for home crowds.
And the players will don the club's new shirt for the game versus Carlisle - complete with black sleeves, which was unveiled today.
The new Puma design marks a change from what fans have been used to in recent years - Wolves last adorned fully black sleeves in the late 1990s.
The shirt costs £42 for adults and £30 for juniors.
Head of commercial affairs Paul Lakin said: "Our fans have a very special connection with the club's home strip, and the world famous gold & black colours, so we're delighted Puma, a leading kit manufacturer, are once again producing both the home and away home kits and all the technical training kit, which is also very popular with our supporters."
All tickets in the home areas have been snapped up as fans prepare to flock to Molineux to see the League One trophy presented to the team.
The latest sell-out – coming after 30,110 watched the amazing 6-4 win against Rotherham in the last home game on Good Friday – means the club are preparing for successive 30,000 league crowds at Molineux for the first time since October 1979.
Carlisle, who have been allocated the quadrant in the Stan Cullis stand, are still to sell out their allocation for the game but hopes are high that another 30,000-plus attendance will welcome Kenny Jackett's record-breaking champions.
