Wolves weigh up fresh Leon Clarke bid
Wolves are weighing up a new bid for £1m-rated Coventry striker Leon Clarke as Kenny Jackett checked out Rochdale's Scott Hogan again.
Head coach Jackett is likely to allow Clarke the chance to play in the Sky Blues' televised FA Cup fourth round tie at Arsenal tomorrow night without further distraction before making an increased offer for the former Sheffield Wednesday man.
Jackett is aware an impressive performance at the Emirates could send Clarke's value soaring with several clubs monitoring the situation. But he knows he will have to up the stakes to get his man. Despite making a number of enquiries and bids for different targets this month, Clarke is believed to be Jackett's first choice.
He believes the League One's 18-goal top scorer is a better player than the erratic one who left Wolves seven years ago for £300,000.
