Adam Hammill on his way out of Molineux

Adam Hammill has been made available for transfer by Wolves, it emerged today.

It is understood that the club has instructed Hammill's agent to circulate the 24-year-old winger's name to find him a new team.

Despite being fully fit, Hammill has played just an hour's football over the three senior friendlies – the first 45 minutes against Bray and 15 minutes at Walsall when George Elokobi was injured.

He was the only player in the 23-man squad who failed to get on the field in Tuesday night's 2-2 draw at Shrewsbury.

The availability of the Liverpool FA Youth Cup winner – which will alert several Championship clubs, including his former loan club Blackpool – comes despite Wolves fielding bids for fellow wingers Michael Kightly and Matt Jarvis.

Manager Stale Solbakken has instead preferred to try out Jarvis, central midfielders Dave Edwards and David Davis, Stephen Hunt and 18-year-old Anthony Forde in the wide positions as he seeks the right blend, while Kightly has been used as a support striker.

Hammill signed for the club in a £500,000 move from Barnsley in January 2011, but has made just 10 league starts in a total of 23 appearances in all competitions.

His talent on the ball saw him become a crowd favourite and he was named man of the match several times, including January's 2-1 defeat by Chelsea.

But after failing to secure a regular place under former boss Mick McCarthy, he went on loan to Middlesbrough in January and so didn't feature under replacement Terry Connor.
