West Brom agree personal terms with Diafra Sakho
Albion have agreed personal terms with Diafra Sakho and expect to complete a club-record deal for the striker within the next 24 hours.
The Baggies agreed a fee of £16million with West Ham on Sunday, and now they've agreed terms with Sakho, the 26-year-old is due to have his medical at the club's training ground either today or tomorrow.
The former Metz striker will eclipse Salomon Rondon, who was bought from Zenit St Petersburg last summer for £12m, as the club's record signing.
He scored 15 goals in 44 Premier League games for West Ham, but handed in a transfer request this summer when it became apparent the Hammers were looking for new strikers.
His arrival should pave the way for Saido Berahino's long-awaited exit from The Hawthorns.
Stoke are favourites to sign the 22-year-old striker but Crystal Palace are also interested, and the Baggies are willing to let a bidding war ensue.
