The 26-year-old striker is frustrated at the lack of minutes under boss Slaven Bilic and wants to move away from the London club.

Sakho hasn't travelled to the US with the rest of the Hammers squad for a pre-season tour, although he claims he's staying in the UK because of illness.

West Ham have slapped a £15m price tag on the former Metz striker, and do not want to sell him until they manage to bring in another forward.

Albion desperately need more firepower up front with Saido Berahino and Rickie Lambert attracting interest from elsewhere.

The Express & Star understands the Baggies have a genuine interest in Sakho, who they see as a proven Premier League striker.

Sunderland are also interested in him, and have already had an £11m bid turned down.

Black Cats boss Sam Allardyce is keen to be reunited with Sakho, who he bought from Metz in 2014 for £3.5m when he was Hammers boss.

The Senegal international has scored 15 goals in 43 Premier League games for West Ham.

Meanwhile, academy keeper Alex Palmer is having a trial with Hibernian this Sunday.

Boss Neil Lennon is contemplating taking Palmer on loan and will have a look at the 19-year-old in a pre-season friendly with Motherwell.
