Stephane Sessegnon has not been offered a new contract and is leaving West Brom – but the club are still in talks with James Morrison.

Albion have confirmed today that Sessegnon and striker Victor Anichebe have left the club.

Both players were out of contract at the end of this season, but neither were offered new deals.

It's believed the decision to ditch two of their highest earners has saved Albion around £100,000 a week in wages, money that will now be put back into finding replacements.

Sessegnon, who turns 32 at the start of June, made 92 appearances for the Baggies and scored eight goals.

The diminutive winger was out of favour with head coach Tony Pulis at the start of the season but he worked his way back into the side and made 30 appearances this campaign, scoring one goal.

He was bought in 2013 from Sunderland for a fee of £5.5m rising to £6m.

Anichebe, who is 28, played 63 games for Albion, but the striker found the net just nine times during his three years at the club.

He was also bought in the summer of 2013, and the Baggies paid Everton £6m for him too.

The Nigerian confirmed he was leaving the club on Twitter earlier this week with a thank-you message to the fans.

Pulis said: "The two lads worked really hard for me and were as good as gold.

"Everybody at the club wishes them all the best in their future careers."

The club are still trying to tie Morrison down to a new deal.

The Scottish international has been at The Hawthorns for nine years, but is out of contract this summer.

Unlike Anichebe and Sessegnon, he has been offered a new contract, but it's understood the midfielder is weighing up whether to accept it or not.
