Newcastle, Chelsea and Stoke are among the Premier League clubs to have enquired about the 22-year-old, but the Baggies are yet to receive a formal offer.

Peace, who turned down four bids from Tottenham in the summer, remains reluctant to sell and will not significantly lower his £25million asking price.

It is understood an offer north of £20million would be the minimum required to tempt the Baggies chief, with any deal also needing to be adequately structured.

Tottenham's final offer, one of two rejected on transfer deadline day, would have been paid in instalments and also depended on a number of clauses.

A new bid would also need to allow the Baggies time to enter the market for a replacement. Newcastle are favourites for Berahino's signature but Spurs also remain in the running and Albion are conscious a bidding war could help drive up the price.

Meanwhile, two Albion games have been moved for TV coverage. The home game with Manchester United has been moved back a day to Sunday, March 6 (5.30pm). The game with Arsenal, on March 12, will now kick-off at 5.30pm.
