Albion have not received any bids for Saido Berahino this January, head coach Tony Pulis has revealed.

Newcastle were rumoured to be tabling an £18m offer for the 22-year-old striker this week, but Pulis said no such approach had been made.

Chelsea and Spurs have also been linked with the striker, with the Blues now the most likely club able to match chairman Jeremy Peace's valuation.

Pulis expects the speculation to follow the Albion around until the transfer window shuts at 11pm on Monday February 1.

Pulis said: "The club has not received any offers at all so everything is pure speculation and people talking, you can't stop people talking.

"Unless he's sold now or tomorrow, it's going to go through to the last days."

Berahino was left out of the whole match day squad for Tuesday's FA Cup third round replay against Bristol City.

That sparked rumours the England U21 striker was on his way out, before it was confirmed that he was missing through illness.

Pulis was going to give last season's top scorer his first start since October at Ashton Gate, and he confirmed Berahino will play some part in tomorrow's derby at home to Villa.

"He's ok, he's fit now and he'll be involved tomorrow," said the Welshman.

"He only had a tummy bug. I think a couple of the lads have had it, obviously Rick [Lambert] missed a game from it.

"We couldn't involve him in the cup game which is disappointing because I most probably would have started him but he'll be involved tomorrow."

Pulis would like to bring players into the club this window but that relies on others being sold.

Academy striker Adil Nabi was sold to League One Peterborough yesterday for an undisclosed fee, but because Nabi was not a first-team player his sale does not open up a spot in the squad.

But if Berahino is let go for upwards of £20m, then Pulis may be busy in the last few days of the window.

"I've spoken to the chairman about the situation at the football club," said Pulis.

"We'll see where we go in the next 10 days, there are people we'd like to bring in and certain areas we'd like to strengthen."
