The Baggies head coach was involved in an altercation with referee Anthony Taylor, after the full-time whistle of a home loss last weekend.

And he's admitted his part in the incident, after a 3-2 defeat to Leicester City at the Hawthorns, and has been fined the statutory figure by the FA.

He was is alleged to have used unsuitable 'language and-or behaviour' in the tunnel, after Taylor had turned down three Albion penalty shouts.

Afterwards, Pulis admitted he had confronted the official, saying: "I've had a little bit of a go in the tunnel with him. I apologised for doing that."

In the first-half, Leonardo Ulloa tugged Jonny Evans back at a corner and Robert Huth wrestled Gareth McAuley to the floor.

Then, after half-time with the score 1-1, Huth clattered into Darren Fletcher at speed after the ball had gone. All went unpunished by Taylor.

Pulis claimed he was going to contact referees' chief Mike Riley about the game, adding: "Everyone in the crowd would have told you Fletcher's was a penalty.

"With Jonny Evans, the referee is only two yards away and he gets pulled back. You have to do well to miss it. Why he's not given those two, I don't know.

"Mike should be on the phone to him and asking him why — because we won't get the opportunity — why he doesn't give penalties for those decisions?"

Taylor has aroused Pulis' ire before. He is the referee who reported Chris Brunt on suspicion of using insulting language in the tunnel, after the FA Cup quarter-final defeat at Aston Villa last season.

He, controversially, also sent off Claudio Yacob during that match.
