James Morrison has told Albion's strike-threat star Saido Berahino to show some respect to the club.

Morrison, who famously once came to blows with the 22-year-old striker, said he believes boss Tony Pulis will be able to calm the situation.

Scotland international Morrison spoke out as Berahino returned to training with the Baggies yesterday after making a deadline day threat to never play for chairman Jeremy Peace again.

Berahino was given extra time off by Pulis after a move to Spurs collapsed and returned to training yesterday.

The striker could now be available for Saturday's fixture with Southampton after missing the last three games due to concern his head had been turned by the interest from north London.

However, team-mate Morrison believes Pulis will be able to refocus Berahino's mind.

"I am sure Tony will have a chat with him," Morrison said."Tony is a good man and he's a wise man as well, he'll guide him through it and I am sure he'll come out the other side.

"He's (Berahino) done it before, so I look forward to having a chat with him and help guide him to get back on track and do what he does best, which is score goals and perform."

Asked if the players could see Berahino's point of view, Morrison said: "I think we do.

"You can't knock him for wanting to go to Tottenham, but he should respect the club as they've been with him since a young age."
