West Brom are hoping to wow their fans with more signings like Callum McManaman next season after admitting their squad is 'tiny.'

Boss Tony Pulis has targeted power and pace this summer as he looks to put his stamp on the Baggies team with several quality arrivals to strengthen his squad.

McManaman joined from Wigan for £4.75m in January but injuries limited him to 10 appearances – of which he started five – of the 18 league and cup games Albion played following his arrival.

Assistant boss Dave Kemp is looking to add similar quality to the 24-year-old this summer to improve Albion's chances of bettering their 13th position.

"We want some more players like that so we have that threat," said Kemp. "We haven't had that kind of player and hopefully next season we will.

"The fans are excited and we're excited by him."

Albion's tally of 44 points is eight points more than they totalled in 2013/14 when they were 17th.

But Kemp insists they need to add quantity as well as quality for next term if they are to improve their league position and get near their Premier League best when they ended up eighth in 2012/13 under Steve Clarke.

"This group has done fantastically well, but it's a tiny group of players and even then you need different strengths and different attributes to bring to the group if we're going to improve it," he said.

Chairman Jeremy Peace is looking to sell the club and interested parties have been carrying out due diligence on the books.

Pulis has been told any change of ownership will not affect his ability to strengthen the squad.

Asked if the takeover is affecting the football side of the club, Kemp said: "Not at all. It's none of our business, quite frankly. You come in, you work, until someone tells you otherwise."
