Tony Pulis keen to add QPR's Matt Phillips in summer shake-up

Albion are ready to renew their interest in QPR winger Matt Phillips as Tony Pulis plots a summer revamp of his squad.

The Baggies are keeping tabs on the 24-year-old, who will be at The Hawthorns with Rangers on Saturday, and are likely to make fresh enquiries in the close season if they stay in the Premier League and the London club are relegated.

Pulis was keen on the former Wycombe and Blackpool man – who scored a 40-yard goal-of-the-season contender in a recent game against Crystal Palace – in January but the deal was a non-starter with QPR unwilling to sell to a relegation rival.

The picture has now changed with Albion pulling away from the bottom three and Chris Ramsey's side looking odds-on for the drop.

The Baggies are within a few points of safety while QPR are four points adrift of the safety line with just one win from their last 13 Premier League games.

Pulis wanted two new widemen in January but had to make do just with Wigan's Callum McManaman, whose early weeks at The Hawthorns have been blighted by injury problems.

The Baggies boss wants to add pace out wide with Wolves winger Bakary Sako, who is out of contract at the end of the season, another possible target.

Pulis also looks set to shake up his side in defence after exiling a host of senior full-backs from his first-team plans.

Left-backs Jason Davidson and Sebastien Pocognoli appear to have no future at The Hawthorns and are likely to move on along with Costa Rica international right-back Cristian Gamboa.

Andre Wisdom is set to return to Liverpool after a mixed season on loan while veteran defender Gareth McAuley is out of contract but likely to be offered a new deal.

Chris Baird seems likely to leave after failing to make an impact on the first team and Pulis must decide whether to activate one-year options in the contracts of midfielders Claudio Yacob and Youssouf Mulumbu.

They will try to move on striker Victor Anichebe while they could also listen to offers for defender Jonas Olsson.

Both have one year remaining on their contracts.
