West Brom boss rules out selling Brown Ideye

West Brom boss Tony Pulis has ruled out selling club-record signing Brown Ideye before next week's Qatari transfer deadline.moreIdeye's move to Qatar-based Al-Gharafa was called off on the final day of the English transfer window when the Baggies failed to land Carlton Cole.

And Albion head coach Pulis ruled out the transfer being resurrected, despite the Qatari window remaining open until February 18.

Pulis said: "If he goes we've got Saido Berahino and Victor Anichebe as our only two centre forwards so we can't let anyone else go.

"I'm not sure if it was a solid deal anyway. He's got a great opportunity now to play some games and we were very pleased to see him score on Sunday.

"If you could have picked one player on the pitch to score it would certainly have been Brownie because of the pressure it takes off him.

"He's a good lad. He's got a great character and a smile on his face each day and he works hard.

"What he has to do is put the ball in the back of the net because irrespective of what we talk about, they get judged on what they do on the pitch.

"The chances he's had - and he's had some very good opportunities - he hasn't taken and he has to put that right.

"Hopefully the goal on Sunday will take that weight off his shoulders and if chances do fall for him, fingers crossed he will smash them into the back of the net."
