The Baggies have registered an interest in Real Sociedad forward Seferovic, who scored the winner against Ecuador in this summer's World Cup.

They are looking to beef up their forward line again, following the club-record £10m signing of Brown Ideye.

And they have enquired about Parma wideman Biabiany, as they try to put the finishing touches to their squad ahead of Alan Irvine's first season in charge.

But the Clarets are determined to land Dawson before their return to top-flight action and are believed to be preparing a new bid of around £2m that could be lodged as early as today.

The Baggies are eyeing a host of possible striking targets including 22-year-old Seferovic, who moved to Sociedad on a four-year deal last summer but struggled to score regular goals for the La Liga outfit.

Biabiany joined Parma two years ago from Sampdoria for around £2m and has since extended his contract until 2018, meaning any move now would be costly. But the Baggies are keen on the former France Under-21 international .

Dawson, meanwhile, remains keen to move to Turf Moor. He has had a transfer request rejected and the Clarets had an initial £1m offer turned down.

But, after snapping up Joleon Lescott and Andre Wisdom, it is understood the Baggies would consider a sale if their valuation is met.
