New West Brom deal for Liam O'Neil
Young Albion midfielder Liam O'Neil has signed a new contract tying him to the Baggies until 2016.
The 20-year-old academy product, who made his Premier League debut this season, has penned a one-year deal with a further year's option in the club's favour.
Albion director of football administration Richard Garlick said: "We are delighted to hand Liam a new deal.
"He made a significant leap forward during the second half of last season and showed great maturity.
"Yet again, credit must go to our academy staff for bringing him through the ranks successfully.
"The test for him now is to see if he can flourish in and around the first-team squad next season."
O'Neil has followed former youth-team colleague Saido Berahino into the Baggies' senior ranks and made his Premier League debut as a substitute in the closing minutes of March's crucial 2-1 win at Swansea.
He made a further appearance from the bench in the vital victory at Norwich and then made his first senior appearance at The Hawthorns in the defeat to Stoke on the final day of the season.
O'Neil today tweeted: "Happy to have signed a new contract."
Meanwhile, former Albion midfielder Scott Allan has been linked in Scotland with a move to boyhood heroes Rangers.
Allan joined the Baggies three years ago from Dundee United but was unable to force his way into the first-team ranks.
He was one of five players released last week.
