Ben Foster impressed as Craig Dawson steps up for West Brom

Albion goalkeeper Ben Foster today hailed the impact of Craig Dawson as the young defender battled to keep his place for Sunday's trip to Arsenal.

Dawson helped the Baggies clinch a rare clean sheet in Saturday's 1-0 win against West Ham but could be left out at the Emirates Stadium with Gareth McAuley set to return.

He said: "He probably won't ever come up against as much of a test as Saturday in his career.

"Kevin Nolan and Andy Carroll are as tough as it gets but fair play to Craig, he's been chucked in during the last few weeks and he's been absolutely fantastic.

"He's a great lad anyway and a super professional so I'm really happy for him.

"We've still got three games left and we still want to get three, four, maybe six points."

Dawson has played the last two games alongside Jonas Olsson at the heart of the Albion defence and he has echoed Foster's call for more points. He said: "There's obviously three games to go now and nine points up for grabs, we want to finish as high as we can."

"We'll be preparing, as always, and working hard on the training pitch to get the best possible result at the weekend.

"It doesn't matter who you're playing - home or away - you prepare well, work hard on the training pitch and you can get a result.

"We've got a great squad and a bit of confidence, we're in a good run at the moment and the fans are right behind us.

"So we'll go there looking to perform well.

"Confidence is high, we're on that run now so we've just got to keep it going for the last three games and finish it off well."
