James Morrison wants West Brom to finish well

The Scotland international will return from injury for tomorrow's Hawthorns clash with Arsenal insisting the Baggies still have unfinished business despite a stellar campaign.

Steve Clarke's men are eighth in the top flight ahead of the meeting with the Gunners but, despite their hopes of European football being all but over, Morrison is adamant they still have lots to play for.

He said: "We have got to take these seven games very seriously because if we don't and we fade out people will say we have stopped trying.

"People could even say we've had a poor season if we don't finish it in a positive manner, but as a group we know that we are not going to let that happen.

"The whole squad and management have been trying to get that across.

"We need to keep kicking on and do better than we did last year."

The Baggies remain on course for a best-ever Premier League season following an impressive debut campaign for Clarke that has been built on rock-solid form on home turf.

Only top-two sides Manchester United and Manchester City have bettered the Baggies' record of nine home wins in the Premier League this season.

And Morrison believes a turnaround at the Hawthorns – on the back of indifferent home form under previous boss Roy Hodgson – has been key.

He said: "We had poor form at home last year and that's probably one of the main reasons we are doing so well at home now.

"I think we needed to go out and play our own game. Why has it changed? I think that's just football.

"Sometimes you feel comfortable at home and other times you feel more comfortable going away.

"I do think our home support has been key as well. If your fans are going into the game confident then you know you can perform and you give everything you have to try to win."

The Baggies will be looking to record their first victory against the Gunners in five attempts.

Their impressive effort on the final day of last season was undermined by a goalkeeping horror show from Marton Fulop, making his only league appearance for the club in place of an injured Ben Foster.

Albion have not beaten Arsenal since a famous day in 2010, when they triumphed 3-2 at the Emirates Stadium under Roberto Di Matteo.

And Morrison believes there is no reason they cannot channel memories of that success to pull off another landmark result.

They have already done the double over Liverpool and beaten Chelsea at the Hawthorns this season.

He said: "At the time when we won at the Emirates, in our first season back up, we were riding high.

"It was a great performance all around and it's one we've been trying to emulate against them for quite a while now.

"We've struggled since then against them but I think at home, with our current form, we fancy our chances."

Morrison has shaken off the hamstring injury that kept him out of last weekend's defeat at West Ham.

He is likely to line up in the heart of midfield in place of the suspended Youssouf Mulumbu.
