West Brom tell Graham Dorrans he can leave

West Brom will listen to offers for unsettled midfielder Graham Dorrans this month.

The Baggies have told the 25-year-old they will not stand in his way if a club matches their valuation during the transfer window.

But Dorrans has not been 'transfer listed' and Albion would be happy to keep the former Livingston man for the rest of the season.

Dorrans has become increasingly frustrated with his career at The Hawthorns since starring in the Baggies' promotion from the Championship in 2010.

And his family are keen for a move closer to their family in Glasgow.

The situation came to a head when Dorrans was left out of the Albion 18 to face Fulham on New Year's Day just three days after making the starting line-up in the Premier League defeat at Manchester United.

It is understood that the decision has been taken amicably following conversations between Dorrans and club officials.

The latest news will represent a disappointment to Albion fans, who saw the young Scot play a key role in helping the club back to the Premier League under Roberto Di Matteo.

He was tipped to be a star in the Premier League but a series of injuries and family problems have contributed to a difficult two-and-a-half years since the high point of his Baggies career – scoring one of the goals as the clinched promotion with victory at Doncaster.

Dorrans now seems certain to leave before his current contract expires in 2014 and his departure could happen in January.

However, he will first need to find a club willing to meet Albion's valuation.

Rangers, who Dorrans supported as a boy, were known to be admirers before their recent financial crisis but the turmoil at Ibrox is likely to rule out the Old Firm giants as a potential destination.

Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray, who signed Dorrans for Albion, is certain to be linked with the player but finding the cash could prove a stumbling block for the Teesside club.

Meanwhile, Bolton are expected to make a formal bid next week to take Hawthorns centre-back Craig Dawson on loan. Crystal Palace have also been linked.
