Kieron Morris: Walsall squad determined to finish with wins

The Saddlers host struggling Swindon at the Banks's Stadium today having failed to win in their last six outings.

That run includes back-to-back draws against Shrewsbury and Oxford – games Jon Whitney's side took the lead in before being pegged back.

But while Morris admitted results recently have not been good enough, he said the players are determined to get back to winning ways.

"We want to win – you're in football because you want to win," he said.

"Every player here is determined we will end the season on a high. We know we need to be winning games.

"Draws are not good enough at the moment, especially when we take the lead. We have got work on that.

"I'm not sure if it's a mental thing or not but when an opposition team scores against us we stop playing our football.

"We panic and need to relax a bit more and keep playing our football."

Morris netted his sixth goal of the campaign in Friday's 1-1 draw at Shrewsbury.

But despite getting his name on the score sheet, the 22-year-old was disappointed with the result.

"It was disappointing," he continued.

"We went in at half-time one-nil up and we looked strong 15 minutes into the second half. To conceded was disappointing because we played well.

"But it's in the second half of games we struggle. We conceded against Shrewsbury and we did the same against Oxford as well.

"That is what we need to work on in training. The manager had told us we can't keep letting leads slip. We were comfortable at Shrewsbury but we let it go."

Swindon arrive at the Banks's Stadium fighting to retain their League One status.

And Morris admits it's going to be tough game.

"When teams are fighting in the bottom four they are going to be at it," he added.

"They are going to be in our faces.

"They are a footballing team as well. They look to pass, get it on the floor and play.

"It will be a difficult game for us but we just have to make sure we go into it with the right mindset."
