Jon Whitney: Walsall fans can be the extra man
Jon Whitney has called on Walsall's fans to be the 12th man tomorrow as his side get ready to host Coventry.
The two West Midlands rivals clash at the Banks's Stadium in a fixture that has been nicknamed the 'M6 derby' by supporters.
Both sides enter the game in good form having each tasted victory in four of their last five outings.
And Whitney believes a passionate home crowd could make all the difference on the day.
"It'll be bumper crowd and we haven't really got the stadium rocking this season so hopefully it will be tomorrow," he said.
"We will try to outperform Coventry on the pitch but can you come and out sing Coventry's supporters on the terraces?
"Mark Venus has come in as interim manager and given the team a clean slate and they are starting to click. They are becoming more robust and more defensive. It will be difficult, but lets face it we are giving everyone a difficult game at the moment and are looking to carry this run on."
Whitney is hoping to have top scorer Simeon Jackson back for tomorrow's clash after the striker missed the last two games with a thigh injury. The boss also revealed defender Kevin Toner has picked up a slight knock while Florent Cuvelier will be out with an Achilles injury.
"Simeon trained on Thursday and so did Kevin Toner who had a slight knock to his ankle," Whitney added.
"We had a reserve game on Tuesday which Isaiah Osbourne and George Dobson came through unscathed.
"Amadou Bakayoko has trained with us all week so we have a really good, strong squad. Flo is still a few weeks away, we are giving him a bit more time
