Walsall's Liam Roberts joins Chester on loan

Promising goalkeeper Liam Roberts has joined National League side Chester on a season-long loan.

The 21-year-old made his Walsall debut last season and impressed despite being on the end of a 3-0 defeat by Millwall.

Roberts has made the switch to the Deva Stadium to gain more first experience with the glovesman currently behind Neil Etheridge and Craig MacGillivray in the Saddlers pecking order.

He has previously enjoyed successful loan spells at Romulus, Rushall Olympic, Rainworth, Southport, Gresley and Rugby.
