The Saddlers extended what is the best away record in League One with victories at Chesterfield and Fleetwood in their last two outings.

But while they have registered 11 wins and just one defeat on the road, Walsall have secured only seven victories and slipped to six losses on home turf.

Next up is the visit of rock-bottom Colchester on Saturday, with Etheridge keen to give the Banks's Stadium faithful something to cheer.

He said: "We want to give the fans the football they deserve to watch.

"There are just 10 games left, we know we are going to have a tough run-in but we have won two games on the bounce and hopefully we can make it three on Saturday.

"The fans have been behind us all the way – we have had two great wins but we need to deliver at home now. Our home form hasn't been as good as our away form – we know that.

"But if we can keep playing the football we have played in the last two games then then we can get the victory."

The Philippines international put on a Man of the Match display in the victory over Steven Pressley's Fleetwood on Tuesday.

As well as producing an outstanding save in stoppage time, he also eased the pressure on his defence by expertly claiming a series of crosses as the Cod Army pushed for an equaliser.

He said: "It was fantastic for me to keep a clean sheet – I made a couple of very good saves and the cross taking also helps the back-line.

Meanwhile, Walsall's on-loan midfielder Bryn Morris has been called up to the England Under-20 squad.

The 19-year-old Middlesbrough starlet has been included in Keith Downing's squad for the game with Canada on Easter Sunday.

His call-up does not affect Walsall's scheduled derby with Shrewsbury Town on Easter Monday.
