Saddlers take on top dogs Burton Albion on Saturday after being helped by Southend on Monday night when the Shrimpers dished out a 3-1 beating for the League One leaders.

And Mantom insists Walsall will go to the Pirelli Stadium looking to take all three points to get them back into the automatic promotion picture.

The 24-year-old, who scored a long-range thunderbolt against Wigan at the weekend, said: "There's going to be a lot of twist and turns between now and the end of the season.

"It's another game where our approach is to try and win. Burton are doing well this season so it would be nice to take points off them and catch them at the top."

And the former West Brom youngster thinks there will be plenty of surprises still to come before the title is decided.

He said: "There's going to be lots of surprise results. There'll be teams who you think should win but end up dropping points.

"That includes us, but what we have to do is stick together when we go through the rough patches so when we hit form we can build some momentum."

Walsall have won just one of their last six matches but Mantom insists the overall picture remains positive.

He added: "If we win our game in hand then we're still right up there and looking at the automatic spots.

"It's just unfortunate that we conceded a last minute goal against one of our promotion rivals (Wigan).

"We just need everyone to remain positive and all pull in the same direction because it's going to be a rollercoaster ride right the way to the end.

"If we can get through this sticky patch and pick up all three points on Saturday, then I'm sure we'll be OK."
