Sean O'Driscoll: Walsall packed with leaders
Head coach Sean O'Driscoll believes Walsall's promotion-chasing side is packed with players who lead by example.
A 2-0 victory over Peterborough ensured the Saddlers hit the halfway point in League One sitting happily on top of the division.
Two goals inside the last 10 minutes from Jason Demetriou and George Evans secured the win to make it a hat-trick of victories for O'Driscoll since he replaced Dean Smith.
The impressive result came just 48 hours after the Saddlers had secured another important victory at Millwall, with the new boss praising the battling qualities of his side.
He said: "We have got a captain (Adam Chambers) who, at 35, plays like a 25-year-old. He is a different class but we have a few characters in the dressing room who are really influential.
"Sometimes you can scream and shout on the pitch and it goes in one ear and out the other.
"I think if people are cool, calm and say good things then others listen. Paul Downing, is the same, James O'Connor and Romaine Sawyers too.
"We have a few characters who are really influential and say the right things rather than just saying things for the sake of it."
With Tom Bradshaw currently sidelined with an ankle injury, O'Driscoll has moved winger Milan Lalkovic into a striking role for the past three games.
And the former Doncaster Rovers and Nottingham Forest chief has been pleased with the way the one-time Chelsea man has adjusted to his new role.
O'Driscoll said: "Milan will frustrate one or two players because he is like a bottle of pop – you never know what he is going to do.
"But we have seen he has that change of pace, he is always going to give you a chance. I think he has looked a constant threat."
