Reports in Scotland have emerged revealing Celtic boss Ronny Deila is targeting Sawyers.

He's been one of Saddlers' most impressive performers in their outstanding start this season.

The St Kitts & Nevis star has so far scored six goals in the promotion push.

The 24-year-old played a key role again for his team as they beat Port Vale 2-0 in Sunday's televised clash.

It is understood Celtic scouts were at the Banks's Stadium to watch the former Albion academy player.

Sawyers' current deal at Saddlers runs out in the summer of 2016, meaning the club could be under pressure to cash in or risk losing him for nothing at the end of the season.

It had been believed the Bhoys had been keeping tabs on striker Tom Bradshaw but it appears Sawyers is of more interest to under-pressure Deila.

Bradshaw, who has been out with an ankle injury, is hoping to feature against Millwall on Boxing Day.
