Walsall boss Dean Smith: Consistency is the key for Ashley Hemmings
Forgotten man Ashley Hemmings has been told he must improve his form to stand any chance of forcing his way back into the Walsall line-up.
The 23-year-old winger has failed to even make the bench for the Saddlers' past two games.
Hemmings began the season in fine form and is the club's joint third top scorer with five goals. But he has seen his chances limited recently and hasn't started a game since the 1-1 draw at Tranmere on January 11.
Manager Dean Smith said: "It's just form with Ash. He is trying to put it right on the training ground and work hard. When he gets back to the form we know he is capable of, he will be part of the squad again.
"We want some consistent form from him and that is what we are looking for. On the training ground he is working hard to try and get that."
Walsall fans will have another view of the action next season after the club announced plans for a new digital scoreboard at the Banks's Stadium.
It will be fully animated, screen action replays in HD quality and be built by Birmingham-based firm D3LED.
