Will Grigg today warned Walsall they must toughen up at home.

The Saddlers have won just four times at the Banks's Stadium this season – and just 37 of their last 100 games there stretching back to January 2008.

Leaders Charlton visit on Saturday with Dean Smith's men in the League One relegation zone after two wins in the last 15 games. And three-goal Grigg insisted the Saddlers cannot afford to keep blowing home advantage if they want to survive.

He said: "We need to get people coming to the Banks's really worried.

"I don't think teams would necessarily expect an easy ride but sometimes they don't really know what they're going to get – it depends on our performance.

"We've got to make sure people come here worried. I don't think any game is an easy game but it depends whether we're on it.

"The luck hasn't gone for us at times but if we get more performances like the ones against Huddersfield and Preston then we'll be OK. It hasn't really been going for us but hopefully it will soon."

The Saddlers are a point behind fifth bottom Rochdale – who they host on New Year's Eve – after a trip to rock-bottom Chesterfield next week. "We don't want that feeling of being in a relegation battle because at times last season we were down and a lot of people thought we were out," said Grigg.
