Dean Smith: Sarcasm doesn't help anyone
Dean Smith claims Walsall must stick together to break out of their current slump – as he called on supporters to save any negativity for the final whistle.
The Saddlers boss felt comments from sections of the Banks's Stadium crowd adversely affected his players during Saturday's 2-0 home defeat to Leyton Orient – their third reverse in the last four games.
Smith said: "It doesn't help when you are trying to pass it and there are a couple of ironic cheers.
"I think it just hinders the players more than anything else.
"We all get frustrated but vent those frustrations at the end of the game and not during the 90 minutes.
"The players do not go out to purposely make mistakes, they are all willing lads who give 100 per cent and try to play to the best of their ability."
Smith, who felt the state of the Banks's Stadium pitch also hindered his players, wants to see a much improved performance at Yeovil tomorrow.
"We have to stay together as a group because the last couple of results have not been good enough," added Smith.
"We have to stay together and come up with the answers."
Winger Anthony Forde, who missed the game after a recurrence of a groin problem, will be reassessed today while Paul Downing is pushing for a return in defence.
