Saddlers' James Chambers not thinking of Wembley
Defender James Chambers has challenged Walsall to forget about Wembley when they head for Tranmere tomorrow looking to move a step closer to the national stadium.
The Saddlers take on Rovers in the last eight of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy looking to move within one more win of their first ever trip to Wembley.
But Chambers insists Dean Smith's men must forget about the prize at stake and focus on beating Micky Adams' League Two strugglers.
"Wembley is the word which is being bandied around," said Chambers.
"We are just looking forward to the game.
"If we do well enough, if we play well enough and we perform on the night, put the ball in the back of the net and keep it out the other end, then we will progress, it's as simple as that.
"While we can jump ahead and start thinking about Wembley we have a job to do. Until we've done it, we can't talk too much about Wembley."
Smith's men are on a run of just one defeat in their last eight games in all competitions.
"We feel the squad is capable of performing consistently at the level we are at the moment," added Chambers.
