Kidderminster Harriers new-boy Exodus Geohaghon was today rated as an "ideal" capture for the club after arriving on a one-year deal.

The giant defender became Harriers' fourth summer signing as a free agent after leaving relegated Blue Square Premier club Darlington.

The 6ft 5in centre-back has been with eight clubs since first rising to prominence in non-league's top flight with Kettering in 2009.

His exploits landed him a chance in the Championship with Peterborough but he only played 12 times for the club before falling out of favour.

Loan moves to Rotherham, Shrewsbury and Port Vale followed before Posh cancelled his contract, just seven months into a three-and-a-half year deal.

The 27-year-old joined Barnet on a short-term deal later that month, last August, before Darlington offered terms until the end of the season.

Harriers have been tracking him for a year and he played under assistant boss Gary Whild from 2006 to 2008, when he was manager of Redditch.

Their patience has now paid off after offering Geohagon a home for next season and Whild believes he will prove worth the wait.

He said: "Exodus was very raw when he came to Redditch but that potential was always there.

"From my point of view it's good to see that he has gone on and fulfilled some of that potential.

"He's had a decent career in the game already but he's still young and there is room to keep improving.

"He's experienced in the Conference but has played in the Football League and even in the Championship.

"You don't get to those standards without having something about you.

"I think, as a central defender, he's as close as you can get to ideal at this level of football."
