Tom Bradshaw on the way back for Walsall

Goal-shy Walsall expect to welcome top scorer Tom Bradshaw back for Saturday's home clash with Fleetwood.

Boss Dean Smith is hopeful the 16-goal striker will have shaken off his latest hamstring injury in time for the visit of the Cod Army.

Bradshaw's return could not come at a better time for the Saddlers, who have failed to hit the net in their last four games.

Yesterday's 0-0 draw at Peterborough means they have now gone six hours without scoring and, while they climbed to 15th in the League One table, they are now just two points above the relegation zone.

And Smith admitted having Bradshaw back will be a "boost," saying: "We could have a fully-fit squad. Rico Henry will play for the reserves today, long with a lot of other lads.

"And it gives us a big boost that Tom is fit. He's been doing rehab with (physio) Jon Whitney. He will be in today and Wednesday and then doing some training with us on Thursday and Friday.

"We've done all the tests that you can do on it (the hamstring). We've got total trust in the medical people. We've just got to hope that it holds up until the end of the season."

Smith denied the troubles in front of goal are now playing on the minds of his players after the latest stalemate, and re-iterated his belief two wins will be enough to see his team safe.

He said: "I think some of the lads look maybe a little bit nervous in front of goal at the moment because they can feel the pressure that's building.

"I don't think it's playing on their minds, I just think they know that there is a pressure there.

"As I say, the performance levels are right up there. It's just that we are not scoring goals. We know that without Tom Bradshaw we have not scored enough goals this season."
