Slaven Bilic has told Charlie Austin and Hal Robson-Kanu they will continue to share the workload up front for Albion.

The duo have given the Baggies boss a welcome headache thanks to their fine recent form for the Championship leaders.

Robson-Kanu has scored six goals in his last 10 appearances, while £4million summer signing Austin has the same number in his last five outings.

The 30-year-old has netted all, but one of those as a substitute, including his double in Saturday’s 3-2 win at Blues. Three of Robson-Kanu’s goals have also been scored off the bench and Bilic is keen to stick with his rotation policy.

He said: “I am sure that he (Austin) would rather start, but at the moment it’s great to have that kind of player. That is what Hal was doing for us for a few games also.

“He came off the bench against Stoke, at Middlesbrough and a few games. Now Hal has got his chance and deserves his chance (to start).

“But it’s impossible to play with one striker, in every club you have to share. Is it Augero is it Jesus, is it that one, that one or that one?

“You need a minimum of two and they are basically sharing the games between them.

“That is the best for us, it is all about the club, the success of the club. It’s not about individuals.

“They are great servants, they are really good friends, good friends, and hell it’s working.”

Austin, who had scored only once in the league before his recent goal burst, believes the situation sums up Albion’s strength in depth and is content to wait his turn.

He said: “It is not a frustration (at not starting). I don’t think people realise how good our squad is

.”
