Paul Lambert delighted by Villa resilience
Boss Paul Lambert today admitted he had "lost the plot" at his Villa stars this season but praised his comeback kings.
The Villa Park chief feels his side have do the business when it counts with the club on the brink of safety.
They have won six of their last 11 games prior to today's visit of Champions League-chasing Chelsea to lift themselves clear of the Premier League drop zone.
Lambert admitted to reading the riot act during a season of struggle but insisted Villa have always reacted.
"I've had to lose the plot at certain times. But they've responded to everything I've asked them to," he said.
"There has been a massive improvement in the way that we've played, the belief and the confidence has been really high and that's been a big thing.
"Against the teams round about us, in the games we've had to win, we've produced it. I think that's been a big, big factor in where we are at the minute.
"I knew it would take time. I knew it wasn't going to be built in a day. But we had to take a stance that this is what we are going to do."
