Brian 'Rambo' Brown is keen to blow away Alex McLeish with his performances on the training ground as he enters the final week of his trial at Villa.

The 19-year-old striker, who was invited over for a three-week stay at Bodymoor Heath, boasts an impressive goalscoring record in his native Jamaica and had hoped to catch the eye of the Villa's coaching staff as he trains with the club's academy.

Brown would struggle to meet the work permit criteria for a UK visa having not been capped by Jamaica yet which makes a permanent deal not feasible.

However, there is the possibility he could join initially on a student visa as he is from a commonwealth country, similar to the arrangement which allowed Kenwyne Jones to join Southampton.

The teenager also has scholarship offers from several American universities, including Harvard, but admitted it would be a dream to play for Villa.

"This trial was something I was hoping and praying would happen for me one day," said Brown.

"My goal is to become a professional footballer so this is possibly the best opportunity to get myself into the big league."

Villa have also had Congo-born American forward Danny Mwanga over for a 10-day trial from MLS side Philadelphia Union.
