Rushall Olympic's unbeaten start to 2016 came to a rather abrupt end as they were thrashed 4-1 at Skelmersdale.

Just seconds after hitting the post, Robbie Booth put the hosts in front 11 minutes into the game with a neat finish past Ryan Price.

Eight minutes later it looked as though the Pics were 2-0 down as Dylan Vassallo slotted into the net but the visitors were saved by an offside call.

However, this proved only a momentarily reprieve as striker Max Halzeldine netted a second on 34 minutes.

Six minutes before the break, Hazeldine grabbed his second to give Rushall a mountain to climb.

Alex Reid almost pulled one back after a mazy run but hit the side netting before Vassallo fired in for 4-0.

Pics substitute Jordan Fitzpatrick saw Martin Fearon save his penalty but Kieran Morris did grab a late consolation.
