The West Midlands rivals have been paired together in tonight's quarter-final draw with the tie taking place on March 7.

Both the semi-finals and the finals of the competition will be held at the 'Home of football' meaning the winner will be heading down Wembley way.

The eagerly-awaited tie will mark the first time the teams have squared off in the competition since 1998.

On that occasion, Villa took the spoils thanks to a Dwight Yorke brace and further goals from Simon Grayson and Stan Collymore.

That meeting came in the fourth round of the competition but the stakes will be far higher when the teams meet at Villa Park next month in the sixth round.

Villa have historically had the better of the meetings between the sides, winning 75 of their 163 competitive clashes.

A total of 35 games have been drawn with Albion winning 53 - including the last encounter against the Villains, which they won 1-0 thanks to Craig Gardner's second half goal.
