Hawthorns hero Zoltan Gera today said a fond farewell to Albion and insisted "I've enjoyed every minute".

The fans' favourite is one of 10 players to depart in a dramatic end-of-season clear-out, bringing to an end a successful Baggies career that spanned two spells.

And the Hungary international was full of praise for the club where he made his name in England either side of a spell at Fulham.

"I enjoyed every minute," said 35-year-old, who scored 29 times in 191 appearances, including 50 as a substitute.

"I am disappointed because this season and last weren't good for me with too many injuries but overall I am pleased and I am so happy to have played here. In the first games the fans were so nice. So I am happy with the supporters and I thank them for everything."

Gera's departure came as Albion cleared the decks after a disappointing season that saw them avoid relegation by just three points. Steven Reid, Liam Ridgewell, Diego Lugano and Scott Allan were also released while the club have no plans to pursue deals for their five loanees – Goran Popov, Scott Sinclair, Morgan Amalfitano, Matej Vydra and Theivy Bifouma.

It means joint-record signings Stephane Sessegnon and Victor Anichebe are the only surviving signings from last summer's transfer window.
