Steven Reid wants to end his career with Albion after clinching a permanent move to the Hawthorns.
The 29-year-old penned a two-year contract with a further year's option in the club's favour, after his impressive two-month loan spell at the end of last season.
Reid is eyeing a long stay with the Baggies, after serving Millwall for six years and Blackburn for seven.
He said: "Those clubs will probably say that I am a professional lad who goes about his job in the right way.
"I'm not going to try to get a move every season or every transfer window.
"I am probably looking at this as my last move and hopefully I can see it all the way through to my mid-30s. But I am not going to be looking at it as a stepping stone.
"This is me for the foreseeable future and I am glad to be a part of it."
Reid's signature last night on his new contract ended a month of speculation over his future, with Celtic's surprise interest adding an unexpected twist to proceedings.
But the Republic of Ireland international always appeared to favour another crack at Premier League football, with Albion making a big impression on him during his two months on loan last season.
And the player himself was relieved to finally end the uncertainty.
He said: "It's not been ideal with what's been going on over the last few weeks, but it's nice to finally get something done so I can look forward to the summer break.
"Then I am looking forward to getting up and running on July 3. It's been exciting as well as a little bit stressful. It's interfered with my family holidays and bits and pieces like that, but it's the first time in my career that I have been a free agent in the summer.
"I have had two holidays and one was cancelled the other week, then I only managed four days away with the missus and the kids.
"So I am away again today with a couple of mates for a quiet one, so hopefully that will be a nice relaxing break.
"When you become a free agent you are going to have interest from clubs. It's part and parcel of the game, but I am glad it's finally been resolved.
"The fans were a massive factor. They showed their appreciation at the last game of the season and I enjoyed every moment of it.
"It was a bit of a surprise to me how big the club was when I arrived. They've got great support, which was there week in, week out next season, and there is no reason why we should just look to finish 17th in the league.
"There's no reason why the club, with the players it's got, can't look to do better than that."
Reid made his name with Millwall as a marauding wide man, before switching into the centre of midfield and earning his move to Blackburn.
But the versatile player also filled on occasionally at right-back – a role operated in on a full-time basis during his loan at Albion last season.
While Reid admitted his days as a wideman are probably behind him, he is happy to put his versatility to use next season, hoping his top-flight experience will also prove to be useful to boss Roberto Di Matteo.
He said: "I knew when I signed there was a chance I would be playing at right-back or central midfield, although maybe not right midfield these days!
"I will play wherever the manager sees fit. Hopefully I can bring a bit of Premier League experience to the squad and maybe the manager will look to bring in a couple more additions with a little bit more experience.
"But I've got full faith in the squad. They are a great set of lads and I see good things ahead in the future."
