The water and waste company is investing £1.7 million to carry out essential work in Green Lane.

It will also include the installation of a new pumping station at its Green Lane treatment works.

Catherine Webb, from Severn Trent, said: “This major investment is great news for customers in Walsall Wood and will provide a reliable service for many years to come.”

In order to keep everyone safe while this phase of the works is completed, a road closure of Green Lane will be required from Tuesday, May 4, for eight weeks. During this time a signed diversion will be in place.

Ms Webb added: “We would like to thank the community for their patience and understanding as we work on this important project.

"We really hope this work doesn’t cause too much inconvenience, we’ll be working hard to make sure everything back to normal as quickly as possible.”
