Katie Humpage tragedy: More tributes from pupils as fundraising campaign takes off
More tributes have been paid to an 'exceptionally talented' teacher who was found dead by her parents at her home in Walsall.
The body of Katie Humpage was discovered by her parents at her flat in Burrowes Street, Birchills. The 32-year-old worked at South Wolverhampton and Bilston Academy until her death. She had previously taught at Willenhall E-ACT Academy. An inquest was opened at the Black Country Coroner's Court in Oldbury and adjourned until September 15.
People have also used the page to pay tribute to the popular teacher.
Amy Butler posted: "Thank you for everything you did for so many of us. Hope you have now found your peace you will be missed x."
While Claudia Anderson said Miss Humpage helped her through the 'hardest time' in her life.
James L described her as one of the best teachers he ever had.
While Jenni Foster said: "Always a friendly face in the English department at Willenhall.
"She always remembered my name even though she never taught me! Proof of a caring nature that will have helped so many young people." Express & Star reporter Joe Edwards, who was taught by Miss Humpage for more than three years at Willenhall E-ACT Academy, said: "Deeply saddened to hear we have lost Katie.
"A truly inspirational woman who went out of her way to help myself and hundreds of others. "
Others also paid tribute on Facebook when news of the tragic death was shared on social media. Kerry Lou Lou Hunter posted: "Such a kind sweet natured bright girl.
"You will be sadly missed by all that knew you. You have touched so many hearts and are loved now and forever."
Kerry Inscker, principal at South Wolverhampton and Bilston Academy, paid tribute to her.
She said: "Miss Humpage was an exceptionally talented teacher and leader who was very highly regarded by staff and students.
"She was passionate about teaching English and was dedicated to her students, she had a hugely positive impact on us all.
"Katie was a beautiful and elegant young woman, her loss is very deeply felt at SWB Academy."
