Dudley's Rock Zombie nightclub appeals against forced security measures following machete attack

A nightclub in Dudley, which was forced to tighten security following a spate of violence, has launched an appeal against the decision.

Strict measures were imposed on Rock Zombie by Dudley Council's licensing committee in March which banned new customers from entering the venue after 1am and meant six door staff must be on duty at all times.

West Midlands Police took action following a series of incidents at the King Street venue, including a Christmas Day machete attack on security staff.

There were also a number of incidents during February, including one where a man was left with serious injuries. Senior officers said the situation at the club had got 'out of control'.

But the club's owners have launched an appeal which was due to be heard at Dudley Magistrates Court today.
