Sonia Witton from St Michael's Road, pleaded guilty when she appeared at Stafford Crown Court.

No evidence was given and she was remanded in custody to return to the court on March 14 when she could be sentenced.

Witton was arrested at Chasewater Country Park on November 8 following an incident at an address in Chorley Road, Burntwood from which a 77-year-old was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham with several stab wounds.

The stabbing, which was described at the time as a 'domestic-related incident' by Staffordshire Police, happened at around 9.30am.

Witton was found just after 1pm at the country park after a near four hour search.

Officers on foot and the police helicopter searched the surrounding countryside, including Gentleshaw Common and Cannock Wood, which is opposite the scene of the incident, before they found Witton.
