Leon Clarke's dad 'murdered': Darel Clarke died from head injuries after pub attack

Attack victim Darel Clarke who died after being assaulted at a pub died from head injuries, a post mortem has revealed.

Mr Clarke, father of former Wolves footballer Leon Clarke, was attacked in the outside area of The Boat pub in Wednesfield, at around 10.30pm on New Year's Eve.

He suffered a 'subdural haemorrhage'.

After the attack at the Church Street pub, near St Thomas' CofE Church, Mr Clarke made his way to the Royal Tiger Pub just down the road where an ambulance was called. He died in New Cross Hospital on New Year's Day.

West Midlands police launched a murder investigation following Mr Clarke's death. A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault on New Year's Day and was later bailed pending further inquiries.
