Just 4,712 people attended this year's Wolverhampton City Show – down from 18,000 people the previous year.

The show was held at Wolverhampton Racecourse for the first time in its 43-year history, after being moved from its former home at West Park.

Fears have been raised about the future of the show, but Mark Blackstock who runs entertainment and events for the council, said talks were ongoing with regards to next year's event.

"After every event we look at it and re-evaluate it," he said. "We are talking to our friends at the racecourse and we other partners, we all want to do something, what that is we don't know."

Councillor Malcolm Gwinnett has said he hopes to take over the event and return it to West Park next year.
